Testimonials (Supervision)
Xin Yi, Social Worker
I had the privilege of being supervised by Cindy somewhat by chance, but it turned out to be a very meaningful experience. Even within a short span of time, I learned a lot from her. Despite the constraints of us being in different locations, Cindy was always supportive and responsive whenever I needed guidance.
She consistently encouraged me to think more clinically, often challenging me with thoughtful questions that helped sharpen my assessments. I especially remember a challenging case where she supported me closely during the sessions and in our debriefs. Through that experience, she guided me to look beyond surface-level responses and better understand the context and meaning behind what the client was sharing. This helped me learn to approach the case more professionally—not relying on my own judgement or emotions, but grounding my decisions in a clearer understanding of the client’s situation and how to move forward appropriately.
It was bittersweet to hear that our supervisor–supervisee journey had to come to an end, but I’m truly happy for her as she continues to extend her expertise to support more social workers. Cindy is a really good supervisor to learn from—she genuinely cares about those she supervises and is always willing to share her clinical knowledge and skills. I’m truly grateful to have been under her supervision.

Over the course of four years working alongside Cindy, I experienced her as a thoughtful and grounded clinical supervisor who consistently fostered a reflective and supportive supervisory space. Cindy demonstrated a strong ability to hold complexity, encouraging careful consideration of clients’ presenting issues while guiding me to remain attuned to underlying dynamics and broader systemic factors.
Cindy’s supervisory approach was intentional and well-balanced. She was able to provide constructive challenge while maintaining a respectful and containing environment, which supported my professional growth and confidence in practice. Her use of reflexive questioning promoted critical thinking and deeper self-awareness, often extending beyond supervision sessions and influencing my ongoing casework and counseling.
Cindy also demonstrated consistency and professionalism in her engagement, modelling clinical rigour alongside empathy and attunement. She was approachable and open, which enabled honest discussions about challenges in practice and facilitated meaningful learning.
Her transition into private clinical practice reflects her depth of experience and commitment to the field. Her contributions have had a lasting impact on my development, both in clinical competence and in understanding the values underpinning effective social work practice. I wish her all the best in her transition, and I am confident that she will continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she works with.

I had the privilege of working with Cindy as my clinical supervisor during my first social work internship in 2013, and subsequently in my formative years as a social worker working with children and youth since 2016. I owe much of my foundational competency in systemic thinking to Cindy, who patiently and intentionally guided me in my clinical work.
Cindy consistently showed up prepared and present during our supervision sessions. She was deeply invested in my learning and would often follow up with further reflections and thoughts even after our sessions. In moments of uncertainty, she did not rush to provide answers. Instead, she slowed me down and scaffolded my thinking, supporting me to make sense of the complexities I faced on the ground - be it working with clients, stakeholders, or within teams. In moments where I felt overwhelmed, she responded with empathy and validation, pacing with me as I worked through my struggles and reflections. Her steadiness and grace created a safe yet purposeful space for growth.
Through her guidance, I became more intentional and grounded in my interventions. More importantly, her way of being - her genuineness, humility, and thoughtfulness as a practitioner and supervisor have significantly influenced how I now show up in both my clinical practice with clients and supervision with my own supervisees.
I am deeply grateful for Cindy’s mentorship and friendship through all these years! 😊

Ex-Supervisee
I’ve had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Cindy a little over 2 years. Cindy has so much heart for her clients and that care and concern is evident in her sessions and in the office.
As a supervisor, Cindy creates a safe space to not only discuss about cases but a safe space for me to share the struggles (professionally/personally) of working with clients or their presenting concerns. Cindy also provides creative suggestions and ideas on how to engage clients given her multitude of experience working with clients over the years, which I greatly appreciated and have learned a lot from.
As a colleague, Cindy brings so much energy and positivity to the team. Her passion to help her clients most certainly impacts others working with her and I hope this impact continues to grow and spread to many others whom she crosses paths with.
